FAQ
How do club discussions work?
And when are they held?
The Sensemakers Club discussions Run Mon - Fri from 2 to 3 PM ET.
The club runs a new community discussion each weekday hosted by a trained peer-leader. As a new member of the club you get immediate access to our discussion schedule and the ability to RSVP to attend discussions as soon as the day of.
You will also get access to general chat channels to meet other Sensemakers, get to know the community and start deciding which groups to take part in.
Once you have participated in a discussion, you will have the chance to join an invite-only chat channel in our digital clubhouse on that topic. These channels give you a place to connect more deeply with the folks you met in each discussion, and the opportunity to become part of planning the discussion for the next month.
What if I can’t make a discussion live?
Are meetings recorded?
We don’t record. Most of us already have enough long form content from events we missed live to last a few lifetimes.
We want you to leave each discussion with a sense of community. Watching videos alone will not deliver that. We want to dig in, and share real challenges and stories -- which for many is harder when the recorder is on.
We do however care deeply about the safety of our staff, peer-leaders, members and of the spaces we create. In addition to all members accepting our code of conduct, we will also be leveraging AI monitoring tools to proactively flag potential opportunities for community intervention, as well as to reactively provide unbiased capturing of what happened in every meeting we host.
Is the Sensemaker Club a safe,
inclusive space?
The Sensemakers Club is dedicated to hosting a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all members, across all our digital platforms and events.
We celebrate diversity and are committed to building a community where everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, or religion, feels valued and respected.
I’m not sure which Membership
Plan is best for me.
We provide a wide range of membership price points, but all of the levels receive the same exact membership experience. This is to assure that our community grows in diversity and inclusion, and supports Sensemakers in all seasons of life.
Explore our membership plan descriptions here in these FAQ to choose the one that best fits your situation.
What if I have limited
purchasing power?
If you are a student, teacher, military, civil servant, experiencing financial hardship, un(der)employed or have limited purchasing power in US dollars, please feel completely welcome to use our lowest rate for membership. There is no distinction of what you paid once you are in, and we don’t need any proof of your eligibility. If ever your status changes, we would love to hear from you about increasing your monthly support for the community.
What if I truly cannot pay and still believe this community would benefit me?
Please submit yourself for a spot in our scholarship queue. We will accept people as paid memberships come in. All we ask is that you reach out if ever your situation changes enough that you can begin paying at one of the sliding scale levels.
What if I'm paying for
membership myself?
If you are paying for this yourself and your work is not reimbursing you, we urge you to choose the comfortably self funding option. We priced this to compare to attending two meet-ups or special remote events per month, but we expect once you see our calendar, you will be blocking weekdays 2 to 3 as a rule, not an exception.
What if work is reimbursing me
or paying for my membership?
Please help us maintain a diverse community by choosing the highest level of membership. We priced this to be equal to a two-day conference ticket, but spread out over a year.
What if I manage a team, or influence the manager of my team?
Consider going in on a group membership. If you have more than 3 people you want to sign-up we are happy to offer you a group discount, and a single monthly or annual invoice.
